For audiologists doing C&P exams

Finish the report before you leave the room.

Kofiko is a human-in-the-loop assistant for audiology DBQs. It reads the intake and audiogram, finds the evidence in the record, and prepares the entries with a source on every one. You review, correct and submit. Clinical judgment stays with you, and the Veteran's record stays where it belongs.

Your afternoon

The exam takes an hour. The report takes another.

Hunting a several-hundred-page e-folder, re-typing the audiogram and the intake, then keying it all into the portal. Thirty to sixty minutes per report, often after your last appointment.

KofikoEntries prepared, evidence cited, portal filled and verified. Target: 10–15 minutes, including your review.
Your exposure

The moment you paste a record into a chatbot, it is no longer yours to protect.

Under time pressure, consumer AI tools are tempting. But a Veteran's record in one of them sits outside any retention policy or audit trail, and your name is on the report.

KofikoThe same help, inside the workflow you already use. Nothing to paste anywhere else, nothing to explain later.

The numbers

What recovered time looks like over a year.

Set the sliders to your own caseload. Figures use the 30–60 minute baseline and the 10–15 minute development target; they are projections, not validated results.

Midpoints used: 45 min today, 12.5 min target, 48 working weeks.

Protection you can point to

If anyone ever asks, you have a clear answer.

Where a Veteran's record went, who saw it, how long it was kept, and what the AI did with it. Today those answers depend on what you did on your own machine. With Kofiko they are properties of the tool, not of your memory.

  • One governed path

Records are processed inside the workflow, never on a personal device or in a consumer tool. Hosting, access and retention periods are fixed and documented.

  • Source on every value

Every extracted value and proposed entry carries a page citation or the rule that produced it. The model points at evidence; it cannot invent it.

  • You decide

Correct, reject or confirm any output. Nexus opinions and clinical questions are yours alone and are never filled by AI.

  • Verified, then recorded

A completeness check before filling; a read-back from the portal after, diffed against what was approved. Every step is logged.

FAQ

Questions audiologists ask first.

Does Kofiko make clinical judgments?

No. Nexus opinions and every clinical question are clinician-only fields that the system never fills. Kofiko proposes documentation entries from the records and the audiogram arithmetic, shows its reasoning, and waits for you to confirm, edit or reject.

Where does Veteran data go, and for how long?

It stays inside the workflow. Hosting location, access controls and retention periods are fixed and documented, so protecting the record no longer depends on what you do on your own device.

How do I know where a value came from?

Every field carries a badge. Values read from a digitally filled form are deterministic. Values the model read from a scanned page are cited to that page. Rule-based proposals show the rule and the numbers it used.

Which exams does it cover?

The hearing loss and tinnitus DBQ first. Audiology is where the workflow and its value are being validated before other C&P specialties.

Are the time savings proven?

Not yet. 30–60 minutes is a working baseline and 10–15 minutes is a development target informed by initial testing. Validation across representative audiology cases is the next milestone, and a pilot is the way to measure it on your own caseload.
